Castle Eden took the honours with victory over Swalwell in the North East Premier League Play Off at Emirates Riverside, Chester le Street.
Castle Eden won the toss and elected to bat, losing opener Liam Irwin early for 3 going LBW to Guy Saxton. A 74 run partnserhip from skipper Richard McGlasham and wicketkeeper John Spellman steadied the ship for Castle Eden.
Both batsman eventually fell LBW with McGlasham (30)and Spellman (45)
Dean Langridge (37) and Keith Bailey (17) also contributed for Castle Eden as they were bowled out for 187 in 43.3 overs.
Guy Saxton was the pick of the bowlers for Swalwell with 4/30 while Nick Phillips bagged 3/32.
Swalwell got off to a bad start in reply as Chris Hewison went LBW for 0 first over to leave the Derwenthaugh Park side 0/1.
Llyod Anderson (39) from 58 and James Welch (24) from 59 got Swalwell back on track at 50/1 from 15 overs.
Once Welch departed Swalwell dipped with wickets falling frequently despite Anderson still at the crease. Once Anderson fell Swalwell lost 4 wickets for 19 runs leaving them 121/7.
Richard Shotton added some resistance down the order with 20 from 28 balls but once he went LBW, Swalwell were all out for 153 in 41 overs.
Jeremy Warner was the pick of the bowlers for Castle Eden with 3/33 from his 9 overs while Keith Bailey (2/26) and Ryan Ball (2/28) also struck.
