North East Premier League Statement - Durham Cricket Academy and Brandon Cricket Club

By NEPL Editor

Please see below a full North East Premier League statement regarding Durham Cricket Academy and Brandon Cricket Club.

Durham Cricket Academy informed the League Management Committee yesterday evening that following a review of its programme and reacting to the changing cricketing climate, it felt that the talented young cricketers of the area would be better served by continuing to play responsible roles with their home clubs, and therefore, with regret the Academy is withdrawing it's team from Saturday league cricket at the end of this season.

At the same meeting the Committee agreed that Brandon Cricket Club's membership of the NEPL will cease on 30 September 2018 as the Club has not met the Constitutional requirement of the NEPL to have Clubmark accreditation.

An urgent meeting of the Pyramid Management Board is being arranged to consider the implications of these decisions for filling the resulting vacancies in the NEPL for the 2019 season.

A Special General Meeting of NEPL Clubs will also be arranged.

Further information will be provided in due course.
