Immigration Breaches 2017 Season

By Gordon Halliday

Investigation Concluded

An investigation panel chaired by former NEPL League and Registration Secretary, Peter Connolly, has completed its report and recommended that 4 NEPL Clubs are sanctioned for playing ineligible overseas players during the 2017 season. The report also recommends that the NEPL tightens up it's vetting of applications to register overseas players next season.

A Discipline Sub-Committee has accepted the Panel's recommendations.

The 4 Clubs have a right of appeal which must be exercised by Sunday 6 January.

Copies of the Panel Report and the Minutes of the Discipline Sub-Committee are available on the website by going to the "Downloads" section under Immigration Breaches 2017 Season.
