Current Premier Division leaders hosted Sandicare Town Cricket Club of the Derbyshire County League. The Derbyshire side won the toss and elected to field with South Northumberland posting 123/7 from 20 overs.
Marcus North top scored with 30 at the top of the order from 34 balls with Adam Cragg also supporting with a middle order 30 from 26 balls. Simon Birtwisle added 17 batting number 1.
In reply Jonathan Wightman struck early, the first dismissing Sandicare opener LBW for 0 before Rob Peyton had James Champman caught behind for 2. Gareth Curtis remained unbeaten on 39 from 50 balls while Robert Cook was also in the runs with 44 from 34 balls, but some tight bowling from South Northumberland saw them home to win by 8 runs.
South Northumberland now travel to the County Ground in Derbyshire on Monday 11th September, for the ECB T20 Finals Day.
