NEPL outgun the Northumberland Cricket League

The North East Premier League Under 21s progressed in the Bede Financial Group Under 21 Trophy outgunning the Northumberland Cricket League by 6 wickets.

The Northumberland Cricket League batted first and could only manage 94 being bowled out in just 28 overs as Ben Whitehead shone with the ball bagging 5 wickets for just 17 runs while Callum Appleby struck twice (2-25 along with 2-28 from Sunderland's Elliot Smith.

The NEPL took no messing around chasing the total down in just 14.4 overs as Alex McGrath lead the way with 34 from 33 balls backed by 29 from Daniel Anderson in just 19 balls while Daniel Thexton (11) and Dale Shaw (10) supported with the bat. The NEPL now progress into the next round of the Bede Financial Group Under 21 Trophy. Well Done to the team for a great performance.
