Stockton progress in ECB National Club Championship

Today saw the opening of this season's ECB National Club Championship with three North East Premier League Clubs competing in the opening round.

South Northumberland and Chester le Street both had byes in the opening tie.

Stockton progressed into the second round after victory over Stamford Bridge CC. Batting first Stamford Bridge scored 150/10 in 36.4 overs with Stockton chasing the total down in 26.5 overs wining by 6 wickets.

Benwell Hill were knocked out after losing to Yorkshire Premier League North side Scarborough. Benwell Hill won the toss and elected to bat first posting 230/8 from 45 overs. But Scarborough chased down Benwell Hill's total with 2 overs to spare.

Brandon were also on the losing side going down by 6 wickets to Driffield Town CC. Brandon being inserted posted 210/8 from 45 overs with Driffield chasing down the total in 35.3 overs.
