Criteria for Entry into the NEPL for the 2017 Season

All details are listed below stating the criteria for entry into the North East Premier League for the 2017 season.

CRITERIA FOR ENTRY INTO NEPL FOR 2017 SEASON

The winners of the Durham Cricket League in season 2016 will be promoted into the NEPL First Division for season 2017 if they satisfy the following League and Ground criteria. If the winners do not satisfy the criteria then the runners up will be promoted into the NEPL First Division provided that they meet the criteria and defeat the bottom team in the NEPL First Division in a play off to take place at the end of the 2016 season. The play off will take place at Ropery Lane on Saturday 17 September (reserve day Sunday 18 September) and will be played to Banks Salver rules (modified as appropriate by the League Management Committee).

League Criteria

1. Clubs must make a commitment to comply with the NEPL Constitution, General Rules, Match Play Rules, Registration Rules, Disciplinary Regulations and Procedures and Results Reporting Procedures.

2. Clubs must enter teams for all NEPL competitions in 2017 (except the Midweek League and Banks Shield which is encouraged but is discretionary) i.e. First Division; Third Division; Sunday Second Division; Banks Salver, Bowl and Cup; Co-operative Funeralcare 1st XI and 2nd XI Cups; and Junior Competitions at Under 15, Under 13 and Under 11 levels.

3. Clubs must have Club Mark accreditation, or in the opinion of the League Management Committee and the Durham Cricket Board, during the current Club Mark embargo period be in a position that it would be likely to satisfy the equivalent of Club Mark accreditation requirements before the end of the 2017 season.

4. Clubs must agree that their 1st XI will play in matches of 120 overs duration in the 2017 season, if promoted to the Premier Division at the end of the 2016 season (or such length as the NEPL adopts if it changes its playing conditions).

5. Clubs must provide summer and winter coaching opportunities for their players. In addition clubs will be asked to make a commitment to provide playing and/or coaching opportunities for ladies, girls and disabled cricketers.

6. Clubs must satisfy the League Management Committee that their junior development programme, including numbers and levels of coaches, working with local schools and player retention, is sustainable.

7. Clubs must make a commitment to provide players for NEPL representative senior and junior teams.

Ground Criteria

1. Clubs must allow their grounds, pitches and facilities to be inspected by the NEPL Facilities Sub-Committee and an ECB Pitch Inspector during the 2016 season.
