By NEPL Editor

Congratulations to South Northumberland who were crowned Royal London Club Champions after a 75 run victory over Swardeston CC today at Northamptonshire CCC.

South Northumberland's opponents in this year's final were Swardeston CC who play in the East Anglia Premier League and were recently Royal London Club T20 Winners.

South North Skipper Marcus North, won the toss and elected to bat and found them selves 1-1 after Wicket Keeper Rob Peyton was caught for 1. 1 run later and South North found them selves 2-1 as Jonathan Craigs was bowled for 0. However 41 from Marcus North and 21 from John Graham steadied the ship for South North who were eventually bowled out for 159 with 10 overs remaining.

South North had the scorers working straight away as Humble picked up a wicket first ball dismissing Swardeston's opening batsman for 0, Jonny Whiteman was then in the action picking up South North's second wicket leaving Swardeston 8-2. South North were in total control with the ball and it was then over to David Rutheford who bagged 4-17 from 6.4 overs along with 2-10 (Humble), 2-32 (Wightman) and (2-24) Crozier to lead South North home by 75 runs bowling Swardeston out for just 84.

Congratulations and enjoy tonight's celebrations.
