From Stuart Rayner, who covered Durham for The Journal, Chronicle and Sunday Sun between 2005 and 2017 and the author of The War of the White Roses, the book features interviews with a range of key figures on the field and behind the scenes, and a foreword by Paul Collingwood. It tells the story of how Durham County Cricket Club joined the ranks of English first-class cricket and went on to become its most successful side, looks at why the club hit the financial problems which led to crippling sanctions from the ECB in 2016, and how it plans to get back.
On March 7th, Rayner will be giving a short talk to the North East Cricket Society at the Graveney Lounge at the Riverside from 7.30pm, and selling and signing copies. The main speaker on the night is Durham bowler Chris Rushworth. Non-members are welcome and entry is free.
The RRP of the book is £20, but copies will be available on the night for £15.
