Sacriston took the honours in the 2018 Banks Shield Midweek Final with a 5 wicket victory over Burnmoor on Thursday night.

The hosts, Sacriston, won the toss and elected to field with Burnmoor adding 76 before the first wicket fell as Lee Henderson fell for 32. Ian Miller led the way with 53 from just 29 balls including four-fours and four-sixes backed by 22 from Steven Walt as Burnmoor posted a competitive total of 176/6 from their 20 overs. Graham Stephenson bagged 3/37 for Sacriston, while Tilley, Jones and McSkelly both picked up one each.

In reply Sacriston lost opener Benard Jones for 10 but two half centuries from Adam Cochrane (54) and Ian Cruickshank (51) had Sacriston well on their way to victory, however once both retired Burnmoor still had a chance of victory followed by two wickets for James William Anderson, but a 17-ball 18 from Ian Wardle, led Sacriston home with 1 ball to spare to win by 5 wickets.

Congratulations to Sacriston for winning.
